1972 yılında Eskişehir'de doğdu. 1990 yılında İzmir Bornova Anadolu Lisesi'nden mezun oldu. 1996 yılında Hacettepe Üniversitesi Tıp fakültesinden mezun olduktan sonra, Ankara Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Göğüs Hastalıkları ve Tüberküloz Anabilim Dalında uzmanlık eğitimini tamamlayarak 2000 yılında Göğüs Hastalıkları Uzmanı oldu. 2002 yılında yapılan sınavla Türk Göğüs Hastalıkları Yeterlik Kurulu Board Belgesini almaya hak hazandı. Atatürk Göğüs Hastalıkları ve Göğüs Cerrahisi Eğitim ve Araştırma Hastanesinde görevliyken akademik çalışmalarını sürdürerek 2006 yılında Doçent unvanı aldı. 2013 yılında Hacettepe Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Göğüs Hastalıkları Anabilim Dalına öğretim üyesi olarak atandı. 2015 yılında profesör oldu. Alanıyla ilgili olarak çok sayıda ulusal ve uluslararası derneğin üyesidir.
