Department of General Surgery
Department of General Surgery provides its services in Hacettepe Adult Hospital with a professional staff with deep knowledge and experience, 3 wards with a total capacity of 106 beds, Intensive Care Unit with 9 beds, General Surgery Endoscopy Unit and 2 fully equipped operating rooms. Having been established by our department, Nutrition Support Unit still provides service to the entire hospital in coordination with our department.
Outpatient Clinic services are provided in the Academic Staff Outpatient Clinic on floor B and Outpatient Clinic of General Surgery on the ground floor of Supplementary Building of Outpatient Clinics. Patients cannot be admitted to the outpatient clinic in Supplementary Building of Outpatient Clinics due to the training meetings held on Wednesdays. Furthermore, followed up burn patients receive outpatient treatment between 13:30-17:00 on Monday, Wednesday and Friday in the outpatient clinic of burn located in the Supplementary Outpatient Clinics Building.
In addition to any type of surgical treatments successfully performed, General Surgery Department also sets an important center of reference in respect to advanced laparoscopic techniques, liver transplantation, burn and intensive care treatment.
General Surgery department performs treatments and surgeries for digestive system diseases, gall bladder, bile duct, pancreas and spleen diseases, hemorrhoid, breast surgery, thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal gland diseases surgery, hernia, soft tissue and burn surgery, trauma surgery, intensive care, organ transplantation and laparoscopic surgery.
General Surgery Intensive Care Unit
General Surgery Intensive Care Unit is located within the intensive care complex on the ground floor. Each of all 9 beds are fully equipped with state of art devices which provide advanced life support, monitoring and treatment. Patients are continuously monitored by an experienced intensive care team. Intensive care operates with high occupancy rate as our hospital also provides service to complicated patients referred from other centers as well. Besides the above mentioned, bedside hemodialysis, plasmapheresis and emergency surgical intervention are also available when necessary. Furthermore, the support given by Radiology Department in terms of interventional radiology proves considerably useful in the treatment of intensive care patients. As well as a humanistic service approach, our experienced team of nurses and technicians also provide services of physiotherapy and respiratory physiotherapy to patients. Furthermore, our technical team conducts the periodical technical maintenance of the devices in intensive care. Infection Control Unit works in coordination in respect to hospital infections in intensive care.
Organ Transplantation
World-class liver transplantation is performed by our department.
Burn Unit
Burn Unit sets the most important reference center particularly for pediatric patients in Turkey and it gives world-class burn treatment. A majority of the patients are complicated patients referred from other centers. In addition to emergency burn treatment, all types of burn surgeries, physical therapy and rehabilitation as well as psychological support are given by an experienced team. 2 beds in burn unit have been arranged as intensive care fully equipped with monitoring and treatment devices.
In our department, appointments for examination in outpatient clinic can be scheduled by dialing 444 4 444 and clicking “Online Appointment” link.
Besides, examination and check-up appointments are given by secretariat of outpatient clinic as well.
Patients above the age of 17 are examined.
Trainings are held Wednesday afternoons.
You should receive information from the department secretariat for receiving outpatient appointments.
You should get above to floor B with elevators or stairs of block 4 upon entering door no 4 or 5 for outpatient clinic of floor B.
Outpatient Clinics and Outpatient Clinic for Burn are located on the ground floor of outpatients clinic in Supplementary Outpatient Clinics Building.
Genel Cerrahi Yoğun Bakım Ünitesi zemin katta yer almakta olup, 7 no.lu kapıdan girilmesi General Surgery Intensive Care Unit is located on the ground floorand you shound enter from door no. 7 in order to reach there.
