The department offers service on floor A and in 9 separate storages in Adult Hospital, İ.D. Children's Hospital, Oncology Hospital, Oran FTR Hospital and Beytepe Gün Hospital with 1 Manager, 3 Chiefs, 32 Officials and 20 Assisting personnel. There are approximately 4 million files in our archive. Ensuring retention and protection of patient files that are issued for the examination and the treatment of the patients who applied to our hospitals, on a regular basis by taking patient rights and privacy into consideration; timely delivery of patient files to patients on any following application, to the researchers who desire to make researches or to those concerned when the patient information are requested by the relevant legal and administrative authorities are the basic duties of the Department of Archive and Statistics Services.
Color-coded patient file system in our country was introduced by our hospital archive for the first time in 1967. The infrastructure works for Diagnosis-Related Groups (DRG), which is an activity of Ministry of Health and takes a new classification model as a basis, were carried out in scope of Hacettepe University Research Project (HURP) for the first time in our country and the clinical coding of the project was undertaken by our department.
The coding of the diagnoses and procedures of inpatients has been made by our department. Researchers, who intend to conduct researches, are given diagnosis and surgery files upon request. The diagnosis and surgery codes that have been recorded since 1968, constitute the most extensive diagnosis and surgery archive of our country. The medical statistics and forms of our hospitals are submitted to Health Department, Ministry of Health and to relevant authorities by our department. Written documents such as reports, information that legal authorities request from the hospitals are responded by our department with the relevant departments.
Filing, File Admission, Medical Coding, Medical Statistics, Communication (Judicial Cases), Researching and Incomplete Files are the units that exist within the scope of our department.
