Department of Infections Diseases and Clinical Microbiology
Specialized and experienced staff, particularly academic staff and instructors in Department of Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology approach to febrile and infectious diseases, hospital infections, sexually transmitted diseases (HIV, syphilis, gonorrhea, etc.), and infectious hepatitis (infectious jaundice) in framework of modern medicine. Furthermore, training and consultancy services are given on sexually transmitted diseases, hospital infections and infection control. The outpatient clinic of our department is located on the 1st floor of Internal Diseases building while 10-bed inpatient service of our unit provides service on the 6th floor of block 7 (Ward 76 Infectious Diseases Services). A research laboratory is also available in the unit.
The wart located on the 6th floor of Adult Hospital has a total of 10 beds in one 3-occupancy room, four 2-occupancy rooms and 2 single rooms. All of the rooms are equipped with TV and fridge. Microscopic examinations of the clinic specimen taken from the inpatients or outpatients of our hospital are conducted in the laboratory.
International and national studies are carried out intensely in the research laboratory which is currently in Hacettepe İhsan Doğramacı Children's Hospital until a further date due to restoration activities.
Patients are followed up and consultancy services are provided by the specialists in Hacettepe AIDS Treatment and Research Center (HATAM) affiliated to our unit within the university. Furthermore, trainings-of-trainers (ToT) and peer trainings are organized throughout the year. Symposiums and congresses related to HIV-AIDS are participated. HIV-AIDS journal is published quarterly. In our department, appointments for examination in outpatient clinic can be scheduled by dialing 444 4 444 or clicking “Online Appointment” link.
Control examinations are scheduled by the department.
Outpatient clinic services are given on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Patient examinations are given between 09:00-11:00 while test results are evaluated between 15:00-16:00 on the service days of outpatient clinic.
